Where is our Governor, part 2.
Time to get off the dime
Does our governor know we are here? For more than two years now, many of we Washingtonians who are concerned about our Columbia River and the numerous negative issues one or more purposed LNG terminals will engender have consistently written to our governor and our state senators.
Now with Oregon’s governor and numerous other bi-state legislators raising the issue of “need versus greed,” of local responsibility versus out-of-state profits and energy requirements, and with FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) ready to “reward the high-priced energy lawyers” who get there “firstest with the mostest” (and that best meets their far out-of-state guidelines), why are we not hearing from Gov. Chris Gregoire? Why are we not hearing from Sen. Patty Murray?
Why are we rather getting insulting form letter reminders to visit the FERC Web site to determine what the issues are? Why does our governor totally ignore the threat to our Columbia River when she has stated that salmon are a Washington state icon and, if they are threatened, Washington is threatened? Now that LNG has become a National Democratic issue, why are we still seeing only the back side of our elected governor? And then there is her opponent, who is as silent on this issue as she is. Somebody should get off the dime.
